"Our AeroForm technology is the first major innovation in breast tissue expansion in more than 40 years. It represents a major step forward for breast reconstruction, as it offers patients greater comfort and convenience as compared to traditional methods of tissue expansion, while also providing them with a sense of being in control of their breast cancer recovery journey," said Scott Dodson, President & CEO, AirXpanders. "We are honored to receive an esteemed Golden Bridge Award, as it represents our unyielding commitment to elevating the standard of care for breast reconstruction."
AeroForm offers a needle-free alternative for women who choose reconstructive surgery following a mastectomy. AeroForm is activated by a handheld wireless controller that administers small amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) up to three times a day, to gradually stretch the tissue to prepare for a breast implant. With the push of a button from the wireless controller, a preprogrammed amount of CO2 is delivered in seconds, allowing the patient to continue with her daily activities while preparing for reconstruction.
The Golden Bridge Awards program encompasses the world's best in innovations, products and services, product management, organizational performance and several other categories from every major industry in the world. Organizations large and small from all over the world submitted nominations, including public and private companies, for-profit and non-profit organizations and new start-ups.
More than 1,000 women worldwide have benefitted from the AeroForm Tissue Expander System to date. The market opportunity for AirXpanders in the U.S. is significant, with the total addressable market worth more than US$800 million. As U.S. mastectomy rates continue to rise and growing numbers of women undergo breast reconstruction, AeroForm is poised to positively redefine the reconstruction process for women in the United States and abroad.

CARLISLE, Pa., Sept. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A program established in Nigeria by Dickinson President Margee Ensign today welcomed more than 100 young women who until recently had been held captive by the terrorist group Boko Haram. Ensign started the New Foundation School (NFS) in 2014 at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola where she served as president during the height of Boko Haram's terrorist insurgency.
Reacting to the news of the women's safe arrival, Ensign said, "I'm so proud of these young women. Their resiliency and hope are inspiring to me and to the world. When the kidnappings occurred, the people of AUN and Yola came together to turn tragedy into triumph. This represents the amazing things communities can achieve when they work together toward a shared mission. The leadership team at AUN should be credited for their tenacious work on behalf of the Chibok women. My heart goes out to those still held captive. I hope and pray that their safe release comes soon."
In April 2014, Boko Haram militants kidnapped nearly 300 female students from the Nigerian town of Chibok, capturing with it world attention. Fifty-eight of these women escaped within days of their capture. Ensign subsequently brought 24 women to AUN on full scholarships.
"It was an overwhelming experience to see these young women reunited with the 24 women we have been educating for three years," said Dawn Dekle, current AUN President. "There were hugs, tears, joy and screams today. AUN made history, and it was Margee Ensign's moral courage that allowed it to happen. Her legacy continues."
Ensign led AUN as it faced enormous security challenges from the Boko Haram uprising. She also founded and chaired the Adamawa Peace Initiative (API), a Yola-based group of civic and religious leaders that has successfully promoted peace in the area through education, empowerment and community development. At the height of the crisis, the AUN-led API fed 300,000 refugees who fled to Yola to escape the brutality of Boko Haram. Ensign's work has been recognized internationally, including a feature in the Smithsonian Magazine story, "Escape From Boko Haram," which lauded Ensign as a "fearless American educator." Under her leadership, AUN was awarded in 2017 the prestigious Peace Now award by the international organization of the same name.
In July 2017, Ensign became president of Dickinson, where she continues to look for innovative ways in the U.S. to serve young men and women impacted by war and humanitarian crises.
Dickinson is a nationally recognized liberal-arts college chartered in 1783 in Carlisle, Pa. The highly selective college is home to 2,400 students from across the nation and around the world. Defining characteristics of a Dickinson education include a focus on global education and study of the environment and sustainability, which exemplifies the college's commitment to providing a useful education for the common good. www.dickinson.edu.

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Edward Jones was named to the top five workplaces for women – highest in the financial-services industry – by the Great Place to Work and FORTUNE magazine. Edward Jones came in at No. 3 on the Best Workplaces for Women list of 100 companies.
The list considered more than 400,000 anonymous employee surveys from hundreds of businesses in all sectors of the economy. The ranking gauged women's assessment of their organizations' culture, leadership, fairness and other elements essential for a great workplace.
"As a growing firm, we offer talented women a variety of career paths to leadership," says Edward Jones Managing Partner Jim Weddle. "We are a family-friendly workplace offering generous leave for caregivers and flexible work arrangements, and we have a new initiative offering extra support to attract, develop and retain women financial advisors. Edward Jones recently launched a firm-wide network for female financial advisors – new and veteran – in a pledge to bring more women to the financial advisor role. The network, called WINGS -- or Women's Initiative for New Growth Strategies—offers tools, mentorship resources and coaching designed to strengthen and advance female career trajectories at the firm.
"At Edward Jones, more than one-quarter of our recruits are women – but the number should be higher," said Monica Giuseffi, Principal of Financial Advisor Inclusion and Diversity at Edward Jones. "As the dynamics of our workforce and the clients we serve continue to evolve, we must embrace diversity of thought, background and experience across our firm. We are actively working to increase client impact by attracting, retaining and developing talented individuals from various backgrounds, with different life skills to most effectively address their needs."
Research from Great Place to Work has shown that women are five times more likely to plan a long-term future with their employers when they say they're treated as full members of the team, regardless of position. The Best Workplaces for Women also set themselves apart from competitors in other important ways: 95 percent of women at these organizations describe them as friendly, and the same share say they're proud to tell others where they work.
